 Terms of reference

  1. Develop work plans and budgets for all farm and land use operations
  2. Coordinate, supervise and work closely with the farmer manager to ensure successful implementation of approved institute farm work plans
  3. Identify human resource needs for the farm and advise management on recruitment
  4. Ensure strategic allocation and efficient utilization of NaLIRRI land for research operations and generation of non-tax revenue
  5. Maintain all farm infrastructure and equipment in good working conditions
  6. Ensure availability of adequate and accurate records of all farm operations, infrastructure and equipment
  7. Any other tasks assigned to you by the Director

 Terms of reference

  1. Create awareness on actions that are regarded as indiscipline, negligence of duty, insubordination by the NARO Human Resource Manual and warrant disciplinary action
  2. Receive and file submissions of disciplinary, counseling and complimentary cases from staff; investigate facts surrounding the submitted disciplinary, counseling and complimentary cases; and recommend appropriate disciplinary actions for culprits and affected staff
  3. Alert Heads of units/Programs on incidences that deserve disciplinary/complimentary action
  4. Develop and implement a mentoring, counseling and coaching strategy for the institute
  5. Develop a performance reward incentive scheme for recognition and appreciation of outstanding staff
  6. Produce periodic reports on the operations and the achievements of the committee

 Terms of reference

  1. Ensure timely development and submission of institute quarterly technical, procurement, audit and financial reports.
  2. Spearhead the development and ensure continuous availability of high quality dissemination materials.
  3. Ensure that at any one time, the institute website is fully functional and is routinely updated with current relevant information.
  4. Ensure that all institute operations, events and engagements including exhibitions are well planned, communicated and captured and reported on.
  5. Develop skeleton structures for institute annual report and calendar and periodically update them with information to ensure that the two documents are available by 30th of June of every calendar year
  6. Produce periodic reports on the operations and the achievements of the committee
  7. Any other tasks assigned by the Director

 Terms of reference

  1. Review institute scientific publications and dissemination materials to ensure high scientific quality and integrity
  2. Spearhead development of institute work plans and budgets while ensuring compliance to established guidelines, national development priorities and institute strategic plan
  3. Review and refine scientific procedures/methods/protocols; develop ethical standards for use on experimental and laboratory animals and human samples
  4. Spearhead the development, review and implementation of the institute strategic plan
  5. Develop and oversee implementation of strategies that ensure bio-safety and bio-security
  6. Encourage and promote regular internal scientific seminars
  7. Liaise with the “reporting and communication committee” to ensure timely development of high quality institute technical, audit, procurement and financial reports
  8. Provide technical and strategic guidance and oversight to the “Resource mobilization committee” during development of institute proposals and concept notes
  9. Participate in monitoring and evaluation of institute projects to ensure normal progress and execution of appropriate scientific procedures
  10. Provide guidance on acquisition of intellectual property rights for products and information generated by the institute
